St. Simon Baptist High School Wins 2025 World Water Day Sports Tournament

The grand finals of the World Water Day Soccer and Kickball Tournament, organized by the National Inter High School Sports Association in collaboration with the WASH Commission, concluded today at the Alpha Old Timer Sports Pitch. In an intense soccer final, St. Simon Baptist High School emerged as champions after defeating Nathan E. Gibson High School 4-3 in a penalty shootout. As head of the WASH Commission, Hon. George WK Yarngo officially took the kickoff and later presented the championship trophy to team captain Anthony Dowah of St. Simon Baptist. Additionally, Madam Jenneh Collins and CEO Secretary Sister Mercy awarded the winners with a soccer ball and a cash prize of 39,200 Liberian dollars.

Nathan E. Gibson High School, as the soccer tournament runner-up, received a cash prize of 19,200 Liberian dollars. However, their kickball team secured victory in the kickball tournament, earning them a championship trophy and a cash prize of 39,200 Liberian dollars. The World Water Day Sports Tournament was organized to commemorate World Water Day, promoting youth engagement and awareness through sports.
