Transparency and Accountability Questioned: LACC, Lack of Response to Rescheduling Appeal

The first communication which was dated February 25th 2025 and received February 21, 2025, was not signed by the head of LACC but by the Program Manager and approved by the oversight Commission at which time it was brought to the attention of the Executive Chair of the LACC by Hon. Yarngo and it was withdrawn and followed by the second invitation letter which was signed by the Executive Chair Cllr. Zoe and Hon. Yarngo acknowledge receipt of the communication dated March 13, 2025. As Hon.George Yarngo replied, he supported the issues of Transparency and Accountability and also requested that the meeting be rescheduled to April due to his current engagements in preparation for the commemoration of the global World Water Week, World Water Day which could take the rest of March which referred to as Water Action Month couldn’t allow him to honor the invitation. With his acknowledgment and his appeal for rescheduling of said invitation, the LACC didn’t respond to his communication either by written communication but remained quiet until they decided to use their power on Thursday, March 20, 2025. The sampling thing the LACC should have done is to reply with a written communication by either rejecting his request or accepting it, but the LACC didn’t do much but act in that manner Please be reminded that the first invitation or communication was not signed by the Executive Chair of the LACC only when Hon. Yarngo called her to bring it to her attention before it was withdrawn.

The issue of invitation in any given situation is not a judgment and anyone can request or appeal for a reschedule for a conference or meeting of invitation based on the individual duties or activities. Remember, is no crime to request such and we think that the LACC needs to come clear to tell the public if they didn’t receive any communication of such from Hon.Yarngo. The LACC needs to come clear to the public why they didn’t reply, but to act the way they acted.
